It's been another full month.
Grandpa John came up for a week.
It poured (really poured) every single day he as here, but the boys loved having grandpa to read book.. after book.. after book..
Thank you John. We miss you.
Leif's talking took off during John's visit, with many new words
Venturing to the beach
The Solberg boys making nest boxes
Our trail commutes seem to go in chapters or obsessions...
We had one week when both boys wanted to run pushing trucks up the trail.. and this last week has been all about black slugs. Leif wants to say hello to each and every slug.. we see "big slugs" "mummy slugs" "baby slugs" and "squashed slugs". Walking up the trail is back to taking 20 minutes...plus
Fishing has started, and Brian is back in town.
Vera, Calvin and Felix will be here soon.
YAY!
I had a long weekend away with Nikki.
We took the camper north of Fairbanks, and had a couple of days hiking/snow-shoeing in the mountains off the Steese Highway. Big country, wonderful sun, good exercise. A real treat to get some time away, and a good reminder of how big Alaska is.
Thank you Nikki for making the trip happen
xoox
Back home to more sun
We've had some fun playdays at the sand-pile
A tropical day trip to Saddlebag glacier
Hiking with the boys can still go either way, but when it's good.. it's really good.
We took over two hours to get to the lake, but Peter ran the 3.5 miles return home in 50 minutes!
Easter Bunny treat at the lake
The shorebird festival was super-wet and stormy. But, the birds were incredible!
Peter figured out using binoculars this year, and Leif wanted to hug the Least Sandpipers
Sarah helping Leif with bird ID during the Tour de Peeps
Peter has a stone 'zodiac' on the beach.
He and Bastian had a good fishing day together
Clothes are coming off.. it must be summer
Leif can't quite ride his bike, but he's loving pushing it everywhere
And, doing dramatic crashes!
Dustin joined Brian for a day of halibut fishing
The pace, energy, and action in Cordova changes abruptly as the fishing season approaches.
It's an exciting build-up to the season, and Dustin joined Greg for the first opener
Gardens are planted, and growing
Peter has started T-ball, and is really loving it.
Graduation Day.
We are going to miss everyone next year, but are excited to follow their adventures.
My new wetsuit is working. I'm warm, but need to work on my technique
I'm excited for more water-time this summer
