2022

This post is my attempt to catch up on the past year, and get back to more regular posts in 2023, so apologies for the photo drop.  

It's interesting to look back on photos from a whole year, and remember all the different highlights and low points (not photographed!)

It's been a year of grieve and missing dad.  Recovering from the past year, and trying to find our feet again.  I traveled solo back to England in January for Dad's funeral, and time with mum and Liz.

On the home-front, we've got some projects done.  Leif has started a cut-flower business, and we've made the transition away from using heating oil in the home for space heating and water heating--electric, and wood, for now.

We are continuing to learn and understand more about autism, and feel thankful for support from community and family.

Dustin and I both turned 50, Peter turned 12, and Leif is now 8.  We're thankful for moments and days spent in outside together.  Early spring brought some great skiing, and we started to do more back country trips together.  We made it to Egg Island for the first time with our little boat.  Early summer was hot, and we swam in muskeg ponds daily. Mum joined us at Fish camp for 3 weeks, and heroically dealt with bears and our family living remote. Dustin and the boys went to North Dakota to visit grandparents in the Fall, and the boys did their first solo flight together.  We adopted a wonderful cat called Odin, had some golden days of high country hiking and skating, and celebrated our 5th Christmas Day in a row at the ski hill.
