My parents have just spent 3 weeks visiting. Wonderful visit. True experience of Alaska summer life, with two days squeesed into each one. Lots of exploring, lots of help with home projects, and of course.. lots of time with Peter. Dustin was fishing in Bristol Bay for two of their three-week visit, so it was great to have the company and help. THANK YOU for everything- we miss you, alot, and it's great to feel more settled and on top of home-things here.
They arrived via ferry from Whittier.. after a great visit with Dustin's family in North Dakota, and the Fischbach Clan in Anchorage.
Weather continues to be amazing-- it rained only twice during the entire visit.
Mum and dad soon got into the swing of staying in the "Shed", carting gear on the trail, and dealing with no water (the plumbing is not working... again..). Though mum told me there was no time to wash anyway...

Peter was baptised, by dad, at Childs Glacier. A very special service in an incredible setting. Amazing to think we brought Peter here when he was a month old. Liz and Kurt are his godparents.

We had a day adventure with Dustin before he left for fishing... mum canoed the Eyak River in and hiked the trail out, dad did the opposite, Dustin canoed both ways, and Peter and I hiked both ways...

The Pink Salmon just started to come up the creek at Hartney Bay. Wonderful to watch them congregrate on one side of the bridge, and see a couple of groups make it under and head upstream.
A fitting last evening to a very full 3 weeks. We spent the evening cutting up salmon sent in from Dustin in Bristol Bay. Mum and dad-- Peter and I were glad you were here for that!
