Summer Starts

It's late June.. and I'm behind with the blog. It's now full-on summer, with long and rich days. It's hard to believe we have been here 2 months, though looking at these photos it's difficult to imagine a time when the garden and meadow were not such a rich green of life. I love how summer explodes, and I've really enjoyed our trail to the house and the daily changes with vegetation and flowers. This time of year really does feel like paradise.

Weather has been amazing; some lovely sunny days, and very little rain. Here's Dustin and Peter enjoying the sun in early May.

We were here for the Shorebird Festival. Laura and Aaron came over from Anchorage, and Dustin's dad was here too.

We took part in the birdathon; The "Lagoon Loons" came in second (out of four teams..) with 59 species in half a day.

Karin came for to visit for a week; super, full days. Some good outings and beach-time, and work on home-projects. Thanks for all your hard work Karin!

We've been battling plumbing problems for the last 5 weeks... poor Dustin has been spending hours in the pump room and below the house. Learnt alot about our catchment system. Thanks to help from Rick, Karin, and neigbours.. we finally have running water again
