Thanksgiving in North Dakota

Time to head to North Dakota and England for a holiday.

Finishing a long list of winter house projects, packing up for 6 weeks...it really does take a village.  Many thanks to neighbors and friends for helping with the kids during the last couple of busy days, and to Julie and Mark for getting us up the trail and to the airport in time.

Always hard to leave home during beautiful weather.  November was clear and cold, and we managed to squeeze in a few great ice-skates. Here's a photo taken up near the reservoir.

It was the first time the boys had been to North Dakota, and we were eager to get there.  Peter was super excited to fly.  It was fun to see travel through the eyes of a three-year old, and it helped immensely with the two days of travel.

We had a wonderful week with Sharon and Bob.  I caught a bad cold during the travel, but it was very special to spend time with family.  We enjoyed cozy time with grandparents, swimming, games, and time to catch up together.

The boys had a wonderful time.
Leif made the most of a carpet and warm house, and started to crawl.

Soo big!

Kurt and family came to visit for a day.  It was wonderful to get our kids together and share a winter walk.  We love Cordova, but both Dustin and I would love to live in a place where it was easier to grow more food, and we really enjoy hearing stories from the Dagel farm.

Winter had hit North Dakota, and the wind was biting.
No wonder we hardly saw anyone else outside!

Aunt Joanne, Uncle Keith, Val, Jeri and all their family came to visit for a day.  Yay for cousins!  Peter was so happy to play with Jake and meet his "tall cousin" Everett.

A visit with Uncle Steven and Auntie Lynn

We met up with Grandpa John at a truck stop for breakfast.  Peter was in heaven.
Real trucks, real truck-drivers... and bacon and eggs.

We then visited John in Reynolds.  I really enjoyed staying in a small North Dakota town.

Train tracks run through Reynolds, and all cold was forgotten to watch the trains.

A snowy day.

Visiting Uncle Robert at the elevator.  More trucks...

Solberg boys

Thank you everyone for a very special visit.  We love Cordova, but we really wish we all lived closer. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by family.

Fall and early Winter

Our landing home after fish-camp was full, and we all had travel plans.  A little too much travel, but each was rich and important.  Peter ...
