Leif and I spent another couple of weeks on the Pribilofs in October. We spent the first week on St. Paul for Bering Sea Days. A week where the school focuses on science education, with field trips, hands-on experience, and visiting researchers. Leif was a trooper, again, dealing with a fairly hectic schedule and being passed round lots of kids. It was a full, nutty, but very rich week.

I've never been on the Pribilofs in the Fall. Seabirds were gone, but it was great to be there for some good storms, and see some great seal action. The pups are huge, playing together in the water in large groups. And, there was a pair of Orcas regularly patrolling the shores looking for dinner.
We then headed over to St. George, staying with Karin in her amazing camp house. We finished putting out the last least auklet nest boxes, and had a couple of visits with the kids at school. The wave action was amazing, the noise incredible from inside the camp-house. And, we just managed to get off the island in between foggy days..
