Darker winter days

Unalaska.

I tried to fly to St. George in early December, flying a new route through Unalaska.  Flights were cancelled with stormy weather, and I never made it to the island.  But, I did have a lovely visit with Kate, Alex and girls, and it was wonderful to feel the wind and space in Unalaska.

Deer processing.  Peter has been a key member of the butchering team for a few years now, but this was the first year that Leif wanted to get stuck in.  Leif took on the meat grinding, and Peter cut up pieces for canning.

Family evening: each person picks an activity for 20 mins ... and we all do it together.  It's a great chance to do things you'd never choose to do, and have time together.

Here's Leif's activity.. making planes out of scrap wood..
