This was a great summer to try a longer boat trip, and we were thrilled to have the help and company of our neighbors who know the area well and have a bigger boat for hauling gear.
We headed out to the cabin at Double Bay on Hitchenbrook Island. The coast felt big and wild, and far away from Cordova. Great wildlife sitings, and good views on brown bears feeding on the tidal meadows. We've been missing fish camp this summer, and this retreat helped fill some of that gap.
