It's been a different kind of summer for us.
Dad was diagnosed with cancer, and we decided to head back to England to spend time with family. Hard to miss fishing and bird work, but good to affirm how much we love having fish camp in our lives and we know it will be there in the future. And, we feel very fortunate to have the flexibility to travel and happy to know we'll soon be with dad.
One silver lining was more summer time in Cordova
Baseball was the dominant theme for the first 5 weeks of vacation, with Peter playing in a majors team and loving it.

A highlight of our Cordova summer.
Our annual hike up to Crater Lake with Vera, Calvin, and Felix.
This year we took a back country route up and dropped down to the lake. Steep slopes, lots of snow, and some beautiful spring flowers.
Bike ride out to Utopia Dunes. Rivers were higher than we're used to, so several wet river crossings... but, we made it to the dunes for some great sand play

One of my dreams before we leave for England was to do the Ridge hike.
It's my favorite place to be. Weather and time never aligned. We made one attempt, but turned around due to thick fog and snow.
