| We celebrated yesterday, June 10, as the day the final hump of snow melted in our yard. The rhythm of seasons and the life force of spring is soo strong. We'd predicted that we'd have snow til at least early July--and were very happy to be proved wrong! |

| Dustin has been working with Maggie on retrieving. It's going fairly well, though we did have to get out the kayak and do our own retrieving of the floating dummy when Maggie decided it was time for supper. |

| Peter and Dustin joined Brian, Vera and Calvin for halibut fishing. The boys had a super time, and one fish was caught. |

| We've had some wonderfully low tides, minus 3fts. A great window into a different world. |

| I'm helping out on a gull study this summer on Egg Island, a large barrier island at the mouth of the Copper River. The island is about 11 miles long, and has incredible beach combing, and great surf. I'll be doing 5 trips spread over the summer, each trip about 4days long. |

| The Cordova fishing fleet is out, and folk have been subsistence fishing. Wonderful having fresh reds again after a winter of canned fish. |
