A break in the wet weather aligned with a three day weekend, and we headed down the Alaganik to Tiedman cabin. We've only been there once before, and that was three years ago. We all squeezed into the canoe for our first trip, this time we used the canoe and one kayak. It was an easy paddle down to the cabin, and great to see the Hallquist family en route! They met us at the cabin, and took the boys for a quick boat ride before heading off into the sunset.
Such a different landscape, with water everywhere. Thick moss, floating vegetation, big skies, new snow on distant mountains, and a strong sense of changing seasons. We collected seeds for Peter's school project, and the boys spent a long time jumping in the thick moss and creeping as close as possible to ducks.
