Beavers

Beavers have been our favorite animal this summer.

We've only seen a few, but we've read books and watched documentaries. And, for a few weeks the boys outdoor play echoed beaver behavior with dam making, flapping their "tails," and hiding from predators.

Aaron, Laura and Hassan joined us for a beaver adventure.. down a slough, past a lodge, and over a few dams.  It was a truly aquatic adventure.  Wet-suits and all.

Turns out that when you need to be noisy for bears, you don't see many beavers!

But, it was such a fun insight into the Delta and life along these rich water-ways

And, finally a beaver.
